Hot lap chief test driver: Ferrari 488 Pista at Pista di Fiorano

Nog voor de officiële persintroductie mocht Autovisie kennismaken met de nieuwe 488 Pista. De Italiaanse sportwagenbouwer opende Pista di Fiorano en liet haar eigen testrijder Raffaella de Simone even voordoen hoe je een snelle ronde op het testcircuit kan neerzetten. De Simone heeft geen ronderecord neergezet, evenmin de snelste tijd voor de 488 Pista. De nieuwe Special Series zou een rondje over de 2,9 kilometer lange baan in 1 minuut 21,5 seconden kunnen doen. Er kon simpelweg geen snellere tijd worden neergezet, om drie redenen. Ten eerste, Autovisie-redacteur Sjoerd van Bilsen zat op de bijrijdersstoel en dat zorgt uiteraard voor extra ballast. Ten tweede, het circuit kent sinds klachten door omwonenden over geluidsoverlast een 'gas off'-zone, waar de rijders van het gas moeten gaan. Ten derde, we zijn in een van de 15 prototypes onderweg en dit bewuste exemplaar is voor 90% gelijk aan het definitieve model.
