Ferrari Portofino - The Best Looking Convertible Ferrari Ever? | TEST DRIVE

This is the brand new Ferrari Portofino, and in my mind it's the best looking GT convertible with a retractable hard top in the world! Join me for a first drive and look at the latest offering from Ferrari, the replacement to the California and California T, during the global premiere media drives. From exploring the exterior and design touches, to taking it for a blast on a wonderful road, let's discover what the Portofino is all about. Getting underway outside Bari, Italy, we can take a full look at the car with the roof up (stay tuned to see the mechanism and what it's like down). From items such as the styling and aero, to glancing at the 3.9l Twin Turbo V8 that makes 600PS and 760Nm. Then it's time to jump on the road and discover the driving modes and whether the Portofino could now be classed as a 'real' Ferrari. Finally a wrap-up with more of the interior and some final thoughts about what this gorgeous car is about. This particular Portofino is painted in the launch colour, 'Rosso Portofino' and wears a number of carbon fibre exterior options. The base price for the car comes in at £166k, but expect to spend £190k by the time you've kitted out your options. Thanks for watching, Tim Note: My apologies for the audio towards the end of the video, it seems as though the specific frequency of reverberation from the engine sound caused issues with the microphone in a short segment. 2018 Ferrari Portofino Performance & Design

Ferrari is delighted to announce a second world premiere in the year of its 70th Anniversary celebrations. The Ferrari Portofino is the new V8 GT set to dominate its segment thanks to a perfect combination of sportiness, elegance and on-board comfort. Powered by the Ferrari V8 turbo, a member of the engine family that won the overall International Engine of the Year Award in both 2016 and 2017, the new car punches out 600 cv and sprints from 0-200 km/h in just 10.8 seconds. The Ferrari Portofino is, in fact, the most powerful convertible to simultaneously offer a retractable hard top, roomy boot and generous occupant space that also includes two rear seats for short trips. The new car takes its name from one of the most charming towns on the Ligurian Riviera, Portofino, which has, over the years, has become an international icon of elegance and exclusivity. The new model is also the most versatile model in the range – a Ferrari designed to be driven every day that also effortlessly converts from an authentic ‘berlinetta’ coupé to a drop-top in just 14 seconds, even when on the move at low speeds. A brilliant marriage of design, technological content and performance, it is the perfect car for any occasion. Two examples are being shown on the Ferrari stand at Frankfurt. The first is in the new Rosso Portofino colour inspired by the picturesque town the model pays homage to. The second has a matte Grigio Alluminio Opaco livery referencing the lightweight metal used to build the entire car. The two new Portofinos are flanked by the rest of the current Ferrari range: a GTC4Lusso in a Blu America livery, a 812 Superfast with new triple-layer grey paintwork from the Tailor Made programme, and the 488 GTB in glorious Rosso Formula 1. The 488 Spider is showcased instead in the Tailor Made area. The version on display celebrates the company’s 70th Anniversary with a livery inspired by the Pinin Farina-bodied 1954 Ferrari 500 Mondial spider once owned by Dominican gentleman driver Porfirio Rubirosa. NEW Ferrari Portofino First Drive & Exhaust Sound - Does It Deserve The Badge?

2018 Ferrari Portofino - Ferrari's latest retractable hard top super GT replacing the Ferrari California. Information from Ferrari on the new Portofino: The Ferrari Portofino is the new V8 GT set to dominate its segment thanks to a perfect combination of outright performance and versatility in addition to a level of driving pleasure and on-board comfort unparalleled on the market. Capable of unleashing a massive 600 cv and sprinting from 0 to 200 km/h in just 10.8 seconds, the Ferrari Portofino is the most powerful convertible to combine the advantages of a retractable hard top, a roomy boot and generous cockpit space complete with two rear seats suitable for short trips. The new car, which takes its name, Portofino, from one of the most charming villages on the Italian Riviera, an eponym for stylish elegance, is the most versatile model in the range. A Ferrari designed to be driven every day that also effortlessly converts from an authentic ‘berlinetta’ coupé to a drop-top capable of delivering a unique Ferrari soundtrack and superb driving pleasure even in day-to-day situations. The retractable hard top (RHT) has been completely redesigned and can now be opened or closed in just 14 seconds on the move at lower speeds, making the car even more practical. Careful modelling of the RHT housing now allows the luggage compartment to hold two cabin trolleys with the roof down and three with the roof up. Ideal for any occasion, the Ferrari Portofino represents the perfect combination of design, performance and technology. The Ferrari Portofino is significantly lighter with the adoption of new components featuring innovative designs made possible by the use of cutting-edge production techniques. This, combined with a 40 cv higher power output than the California T, has resulted in a significant hike in performance and a corresponding drop in emissions. Vehicle dynamics benefit from the introduction, for the first time on this model, of electric power steering, the 3rd generation electronic differential (E-Diff3) and the latest evolution of the electronic suspension control system (SCM-E) integrated with Premium 9.1 ESP. FERRARI POROTFINO ENGINE Starting with the V8 power unit, which has won the outright International Engine of the Year award for two consecutive years in 2016 and 2017, Ferrari’s engineers worked on several different fronts to deliver a power output of 600 hp at 7500 rpm, the equivalent of 156 cv/l, introducing new mechanical components as well as specific engine management software. The Portofino’s engine continues Ferrari’s zero turbo lag tradition, with instantaneous throttle response in under 1 second. The Ferrari Portofino features Variable Boost Management, a control software developed by Ferrari that adjusts torque delivery to suit the gear selected. As the car goes up through the gears (from 3rd to 7th), the amount of torque delivered by the engine increases all the way up to 760 Nm. This has allowed the Ferrari Portofino to adopt longer gear ratios in the higher gears, which helps keep fuel consumption and emissions down on the one hand, while adopting different torque curves through the rev range in the lower gears for a feeling of strong, continuous pick-up. In line with long-standing Ferrari tradition, every single Prancing Horse engine has its own particular soundtrack that makes it unique. This is also true of the Ferrari Portofino. Aside from a new exhaust line, electronically-controlled by-pass valves have been adopted in a first for Ferrari, delivering improvements in actuation speed and precision. The new valves guarantee that the soundtrack changes in line with the various situations in which the car is used. ► Subscribe to MrJWW: http://bit.ly/1Q2RWK4 ► Music: https://soundcloud.com/nowemusic/dream-on ►Follow MrJWW: http://MrJWW.com http://instagram.com/MrJWW http://facebook.com/MrJWW http://twitter.com/MrJWW

Ferrari's latest open GT model is the new Portofino, released at the Frankfurt Motorshow to replace the California T. Named after the Italian seaside town, the revisions to the car take power to 600PS and 760Nm from the 3.9l TT V8, enhance the design and styling, while giving it a more complete silhouette with the roof up.

It has new technologies with E-diff 3 and electric steering for the first time on a Ferrari GT class car and the featured car is finished in Rosso Portofino, a lovely colour choice.
