Back to the Future 2 - TODAY IS THE FUTURE!

In Back to the Future 2, Doc brings Marty and Jennifer to the future date of October 21, 2015. That actual day is now upon us! James, Mike and Kyle sit down and reflect upon the film's legacy, and of its imaginary future predictions. It's an ingenious work of science fiction, but when is it more science than fiction? Our nostalgia will lead us to the past, which is about the future, which is now the present. #retro #retrogaming #nes #snes #jamesrolfe #mikematei #atari #playthrough #gameplay #gamereview

The Jaguar. In part 1 of this review The Nerd gives some Atari History as well as a sneak peak of some of the system's small and crappy library. Watch The Nerd tell us about all of The Jaguar's failed and annoying attempts at system hardware innovation. The Nerd will show you just how convenient the lack of a spine label is, He will show you how the added handle to the game carts makes life a little easier as well as many more additions to the hardware make his colon quake. Expletives fly and emotions run high in this first part review of the Atari Jaguar. In the Golden Age of video games, Atari was on top. The games may not seem like much compared to today, but for the time, these simple games were revolutionary. Atari dominated arcades, and home consoles with the Atari 2600. Then competition came along, and the market became consumed with video games. Then after 1983 after the infamous Video Game Crash, Nintendo and Sega rose up, and video games were revolutionized again. So Atari had a rough time keeping up, especially with the comparison in graphics and gameplay. With Nintendo and Sega in heated competition, Sega made the argument that the 16-bit Genesis was superior to the 8-bit NES; starting a "Bit War". Atari saw this as the perfect time to capitalize with one console, but it only reminded us that graphics don't mean everything. This is, the Atari Jaguar, which was announced to be the very first; 64 Bit System! But in the end, it's anticipated arrival on the feeding ground wasn't as fearful as it build up. Here, we'll briefly touch upon the rise and fall of Atari, and why the Jaguar failed to live up to what it could've been before the Nerd talks about the games themselves. 10 Rare Video Games You Will NEVER Get To Play

10 RETRO GAMES THAT COST MORE THAN THEY’RE WORTH. Video game collectors are an odd bunch. They’re willing to shell out thousands of dollars to buy games that aren’t always very fun. This is TheGamer’s list of 10 Rare Games You’ll Never Get to Play. WHAT DO YOU THINK: - Have you ever paid top dollar for a rare collectible game? - Do you know anyone who has? Let us know in the comments section below! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBSCRIBE NOW to The Gamer! Submit it to us here: https://goo.gl/forms/hn6vV1Ic2PbfGnhx2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Depending on your gaming platform of choice, you might be used to spending anywhere from zero to $60 for a video game. But rare games are often much more valuable. For instance, Stadium Events is one of the rarest games of all. It was only on the market for a short time before Nintendo bought the rights to it and rebranded it for the Power Pad. Or EarthBound, a classic RPG Nintendo launched to little success on the SNES. Its hero, Ness, would rise to fame later thanks to Super Smash Bros. Nintendo World Championships is a special game cartridge made for a tournament Nintendo held in the 90’s. It contains short sections of a few games and tournament winners got to keep their cart. Legend has it that Atari buried a stockpile of E.T. cartridges in the desert because it sold so far below their expectations. Turns out the legend is true, but buying an unearthed cartridge will cost you big bucks. Mario didn’t just star in Super Mario Bros. in 1985. In the rare game Wrecking Crew, the plumber trades a wrench for a hammer as he knocks down walls. The Flintstones had a rare outing in a game that may have been exclusive to video rental stores. Little Samson is a platformer that lets you swap between four characters on the fly. It has a lot of good ideas, but it came out so late, not many NES owners noticed it. Another late-comer on the NES is TMNT: Tournament Fighters, a fighting game that also happens to be the last game Konami ever made for the console. Bonk’s Adventure is a fun game about a caveman-child with a giant bald head. And Donkey Kong Country got a special limited release for a national tournament put on by Blockbuster. Watch the video to find out even more about these rare video games you’ll never get to play. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Script by: Chris Reed Voice Over by: Justin Freitas Edited by: Kyle West Our Social Media: https://twitter.com/thegamer_site https://www.facebook.com/thegamercom/ Our Website http://thegamer.com

Angry Video Game Nerd (Episode 88)
SwordQuest

When gaming was new, Atari's creative brain trust conceived of an ambitious puzzle contest: by playing a game, interpreting clues, and solving a mystery, every customer would be eligible for their share of a lordly trove of prizes totaling $150,000 in value.

Thus was born "Swordquest," a projected series of four Atari 2600 games combining mystical traditions, high-quality comic book inserts from DC, and ingenious puzzles into a gaming experience scarcely matched today, let alone 1982.

What could go wrong? The Nerd breaks down the troubled history of the Swordquest franchise and demands closure on one of the gaming world's greatest unfinished stories.
