*Warning*, you will get that uneasy vertigo feeling if you have a fear of heights. This is the full hike from bottom to top, of Angels landing in Zion national park, Utah. Filmed with gopro, it shows you what you will be seeing during the hike by getting a first person POV view of it. This is one adrenaline packed hike that I would do again in a second! Enjoy the video
NOT FOR BROADCAST WITHOUT PERMISSION This video depicts my story...assigned to Loveland Fire Rescue Authority Chief 6 with my Amateur Radio Emergency Services Communications Team that was activated in the Loveland Emergency Operations Center that I am a team member on. We are un-paid volunteers using POV and POE (personal vehicles and equipment). video begins at about 9 AM at the mouth of the big thompson canyon, near the dam store, and concludes about 8 PM with the second rope rescue of the day. Mid point in the video it is approximately 1-2 PM. This is a raw cut...i have wicked allergies which you will hear...and damn near caught a cold after standing in the pouring rain for 12 hours.... and there is a substantial amount of driving up the canyon as what would become the final documentation of the Big Thompson Canyon prior to the nearly 10,000 cubic feet per second that evening wiping most of the landscape down river. It was flowing at 5,500 to 6,000 CFS during the video. The actions taken by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Estes Park Vol. Fire Dept, Big Thompson Vol. Fire Dept, Thompson Valley EMS, and Larimer County Sheriff office in this video are nothing short of heroic, inspirational, and amazing. I am proud to be part of the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority as their Dept Photographer, and ARES communications team member. Luckily my services were not needed as the primary method of communication did not fail. But had it done so, I was fully prepared to take over comms back to the EOC. Enjoy the video, it is 32 minutes long, and it is watermarked to protect my interest in documenting the worst flooding since the Big T in 1976. Thank you for taking the time to watch my story as it unfolded on the front lines September 12, 2013.
