In this ridiculously highly-requested review, I take a look at the follow-up to Oblivion. Can it redeem the series? WARNING: contains spoilers for all three games Update on the Indoctrination theory: the video is harsher on the indoctrination theory than I really meant to be. The theory is very clever actually - but I just personally doubt that it's what Bioware intended for a variety of reasons. Another update on the Indoctrination theory: I'm working on a video on that now that'll go into more detail on it. Bethesda creates its most expansive and engaging world yet with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb sacrificed tons of sleep to deliver our double-sized review. For more on The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, go here: http://www.g4tv.com/games/pc/64712/the-elder-scrolls-5-skyrim/
Become a Theorist! ► http://tinyurl.com/mrd2ntg The knees of Skyrim are facing a crisis and only Game Theory knows who is behind the arrow attacks. We're looking at Viking culture, law, and medicine, the history of archery, and knee anatomy to finally put a stop to this overused meme. Game Theory: Presented to you until SOPA/PIPA passes, at which point I may be considered a felon. So help keep me out of jail by supporting the movement to stop these bills.
I love Skyrim, but trying to enact change is like getting blood from a stone. This video glances at the 6 main quest-lines within the game and nags them a bit. Spoilers are kept to a minimum, I hope. Some of the visuals represent important places, but you'd need prior knowledge to spot their relevance :) I'm truly sorry for murdering the Abba song. It's almost 5am.
Spoiler-free. Hope you enjoy it. I blame the quality* of this review on sleep deprivation & hurriedly trying to get back to play Skyrim.
Probably not going to mean much to you if you're brand new to RPG gaming.
Genuine congratulations if you manage to get through this video in 1 sitting. Needs an intermission.
Issues since upload:
More regular crashes & quest bugs.
UI is starting to get on my wick.
Phobia of numbers/stats makes details vague (what does dual-casting do? What is a 'level 10' enemy?).
Enchanting & crafting negates loot-hunting.
Too few outlets for money spending.
Selling loot is a chore (Banks & 'letters of credit' back, please).
But most importantly:
Very little portrayal of consequence for your status / actions. Bugger.
Mods required. :)
*(Assumption based on my being too tired to judge. Possibly ranty, holier-than-thou, unfocused, with less time spent on image editing. I don't usually deal with reviews of this length. I didn't talk enough about combat (dual-wielding, spells). Is revealing the very general nature of quests a 'spoiler'? I don't know. I should sleep. I keep clicking on the bed and resting for 8 hours, but I'm still tired. I'm sure comments will reveal further shortcomings).
