(1 Feb 2018) ITALIAN ICON GINA LOLLOBRIGIDA IS CEMENTED IN HOLLYWOOD Legendary Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday (1 FEB.). "What can I say? I am very moved. I didn't expect after so many years to be back here and to have all this love. I was very spoiled in America. Even when I came the first time and I did the first movie with MGM with the Frank Sinatra. I remember they treated me like a queen. I will never forget that all the love through the movies. I am well-known all over the world and loved all over the world that for so long time I never expect that. I am so pleased and I thank you with all my heart for all the love you give to me. You made my life very precious because of that," Lollobrigida told the crowd. The 90-year-old icon starred alongside some of Hollywood's most famous leading men, including Humphrey Bogart in 1953's "Beat the Devil," and Frank Sinatra in the 1959 drama "Never So Few." Lollobrigida won a Golden Globe Award in 1961 for her work in the romantic comedy "Come September." "I was moved," she said of the star ceremony. "Like the first time I came in Hollywood, they treated me like a queen - MGM in the film with Sinatra. It's very good to succeed and to be loved by so many people all over the world." After the event she shared this message with her fans in Italy: "A hug to all my Italian admirers, even here in Hollywood. You are always in my heart. A big hug and thank you for all the affection that for many years is still alive in you for me. Thank you." Lollobrigida also had a successful career as a photojournalist and sculptor. She said staying busy is key. "And this is the secret for me is to work all the time because when I'm working I feel alive. And I thank you for, for giving to me this much popularity in all the world because movie is magic." Her star is the 2,628th to be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
