Before we get started make sure to hit that subscribe button. Do you have nerf bars, running boards or rock sliders on your truck or Jeep? Let us know what you’re running and what you think of them! We’ll start off by describing the different types. Nerf bars are tubular steps, or individual steps bolted on at body or frame that make it much easier to get into the truck. Running boards are similar to nerf bars but instead of being a bar, it’s a board. There’s also singular steps you can install. Rock sliders are for the serious off roader and are meant to protect the body and doors from damage. Nerf Bars and Running boards are useful for a few reasons. Obviously they make getting in and out of the truck or Jeep but they can also save your driver seat from wear and tear. That’s because you’re sitting /down/ rather than sliding on and off the seat. Plo us it can change up the look of your truck while it adds functionality. Nerf Bars are available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and finishes but most are circular or oval shaped with traction pads at the door so you don’t slip. Running boards are flat all the way across, although the Wrangler Sahara’s stock running board has a segmented portion between the doors. Installation for both styles differs based on which truck or Jeep you are working on but generally it’s as easy installing a few bolts into predrilled holes. Sizing also differs based on preference. There’s cab length which allows easy access to the interior but there also wheel to wheel that have an extra step at the front of the bed. Now, if you want to go all out there’s even powered running boards. They stay tucked away and hidden until you open the doors, which is really the only time you need them anyway. When compared to non powered steps these can be lower, making it even easier for you or your family to get in your truck no matter how tall it is. Some even have LEDs so you can see where you’re stepping in the dark. The last style we’re going to talk about is Rock Sliders. These are for much more specialized off road applications and offer the most protection possible. The idea behind them is that they should be able to hold the full weight of the truck while out wheeling. They won’t snap off if you slam down on a rock, stump or other trail obstruction. There’s a lot of conversation on the web about what is the best, so here’s some things you’ll need to take into account when buying rock sliders: The material, Size and thickness, Weight, and If they’re bolt on or weld on. And although not all do, most include some sort of side step functionality. Are you ready to pick up some Nerf Bars, Running boards or Rock Sliders? This is a review of a set of Aftermarket Towing Mirrors from 1AAuto. These mirrors are: Power Adjust, Power Fold, Manual Telescoping, Integrated Turn Signal (Amber), Smoke Lens (Amber) Park Lamp, Cargo Lamp. This mirror does not support Mirror Memory, so if you have the A45 - RPO for Seat Memory Seats (LTZ/High Country, SLT/Denali), you can still install these mirrors but will be omitting Mirror Memory along with Reverse Tilt. If you have an LT/SLE Trim, you can upgrade to these mirrors and have Power Fold functionality! Please visit http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/198157-2014-2017-dl8-dl3-towing-mirror-upgrade-mirrors-explained/. I make custom harnesses to make this Plug and Play for you!
