Ferrari 488 Pista 2019 review - 710bhp supercar on road and track | Autocar

When Ferrari makes a track special of its mid-engined V8 supercar, it doesn’t tend to get it wrong. And so to the Ferrari 488 Pista, a car that, Ferrari says, has more motorsport in it than any of its other road cars. Subscribe now: It has the engine and aerodynamics from the Ferrari 488 Challenge car, but, at 661bhp, it not only makes 50bhp more than the regular 488 GTB and 20% more downforce, it’s also up to 90kg lighter thanks to a widespread adoption of carbon fibre. Does this mean, though, that it’ll have the measure of other low-volume, race-inspired cars like the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and Lamborghini Huracan Performante? Join us as we find out whether this is another Ferrari special that ticks every gorgeous box it should. New videos are uploaded to Autocar each week. Don't miss a single one. Ferrari Portofino Review | The Most Beautiful Car In The World? | NDTV carandbike

We drive Ferrari's latest drop top cabriolet, the brand new Portofino. What could possibly be the most beautiful car in the world in series production today, the new Portofino packs in the signate GT formula - an engine up front, rear wheel drive and a hard top folding roof to take you from 0-a million miles of open sky in just 18 seconds. And as intimidating as 592 bhp of power sounds, the Portofino surprised us with its sheer usability and comfortable driving dynamics. Ferrari 488 Pista: Controlled| | Review Car

Details, details, details. That, beyond anything, is what marks out the two consistently best super sports cars in the business: the fast, special versions of Porsche's 911, the GT3 RS, and Ferrari's mid-engined V8, which, now, is the 488 Pista. I think it's because they're cars from engineers and purists, for likeminded folk. And because motorsport runs through them both.  They've both been around since 2003: the GT3 RS because Porsche needed to homologate two suspension components for racing, ...
